Abolish the fox hunting ban

Country people should continue to have the centuries old right to hunt.

A marvellous spectacle – part of our tradition – good tourist attraction – keeps vermin (foxes) down.

Repeal human rights act

The human rights act should be repealed because in the uk there is sufficient legislation already in place to protect individuals rights. The human rights act is far too cumbrsome and onerous and has prooved to be brought into use too often in order to complicate our system of british justice based upon fairness and common sense.

The foundations for an individuals human rights were in existence long before the human rights act. These foundations were based upon the tenet that although everyone has rights, they also have responsibilities. To my mind the human rights act allows unbounded interpretation, that in many cases has reulted in unsustainable knock-on effects that can give free reign to situations that allow some individuals to gain unwarranted or unfair advantage, which in some instances has caused disadvantage and a negative impact on other peoples rights.

In addition, it can be at odds with conditions of service/employment that have stood the test of time and to which individuals have not contested.

Hunting is the most humane method of controlling foxes

Hunting foxes only has two outcomes, the fox lives or it dies instantly. Unlike other forms of control the fox is never injured or maimed and left to die a slow and agonising death. Man has been part of the countryside for thousands of years and is part of the natural balance. For those who argue that fox hunting is like badger baiting or similar horrendous activities they obviously cannot recognise the difference between an activity with no purpose carried out purely for pleasure and a legitimate way of controlling predators or culling selected animals such as stag hunting. Yes, people enjoy going hunting but this does not change it's purpose and it is enjoyed by all, from the poorest to the richest – there is no class divide on the hunting field.

Repeal the Hunting Act

Ideally, repeal the Hunting Act outright, and trust members of hunts and their supporting organisations to behave responsibly and humanely towards the animals they hunt.

If this is deemed too controversial, make hunting legal with certain restrictions, though I should add that these would probably be as impossible to enforce as the Hunting Act itself, and the majority of hunts and their members would be acting within them anyway.

I don’t understand why it was banned in the first place?

I am from the city and have never in the past been interested in fox hunting only shoes and bags, however I feel it is such a shame that it has been banned as it has always been part of what I thought was the English heritage I also know what harm foxes can do if not controlled, unlike most townie's I can see beyond the city and was amazed by the ban as there is more important problems in this country that need addressing than banning a sport that has done more GOOD than harm. So as I new leader do the right thing and start to make England, England again.

Repeal of the Hunting Act

The Act introduced to ban hunting with dogs should be repealed. It is a very poor piece of legislation which is difficult to enforce, difficult to police and, most importantly, it has done nothing to improve animal welfare – in fact,  in my experience, the reverse is true.
