Make Equality and Human-Rights Legislation fair for ALL…

It is time that the 'Equality' Laws were adjusted to include the Male of the species to a greater extent – rather than making it's Legislation almost completely FEMALE-centric. Perhaps the 'Equality' Dept.should be run by both Male AND Female MP's.

In any case, it certainly does need a re-think if this Government wants its citizens to be FAIRLY treated. At the moment they are not.

The same goes for the 'Human-Rights' Legislation:

It's also time that this Government  – as promised – re-negotiated our HR Laws with the EU so that Criminals and undesirables are not 'defended' to such a ridiculous degree, whereby the citizens of the UK are actually put at risk.

We are sick of hearing that offenders and potentially dangerous people must be 'protected' rather more than the citizens of this Country.

Why is this idea important?

Religious exemptions to equality laws should be removed

Many religions ignore laws such as equal rights for women and homosexuality.  Unless a religion conforms to the spirit of the law, it should,  as a minimum, not be classified as a religion, and, if necessary, its members should be prosecuted for not positively adhering to equal rights.

Get rid of ‘equal pay for for equal work’

There should be no requirement to pay equally for equal work.  There is no job that is identical to another and is carried out identically by different people.

People should be paid upon what they are able to 'demand' and what the employer is willing to pay.

Protect the right to criticise religion and the state

I propose to abolish any law that restricts the right to criticise religions or the authorisies or any other group or creed as this restricts a person's right to free speech

Remove the need to complete Equality Impact Assessments

I am CE of a small charity – £250k turnover and 8 staff.  I hold 1 contract with the local council (Luton Borough).  There appears to be an obligation on all Government departments to complete Equality Impact Assessments on all their Policies and Procedures.  This obligation is also devolved to me (and all the other council suppliers).  This will be a massive, time consuming task that will deliver no benefit to the vulnerable clients that we exist to support and will divert my resouces (only person in a management role in the organisation) from fund raising and improving our services.  However, if I do not do this, I will fail this element of the quality assessment process and risk not having my contract continued.

Remove the equality act

Get rid of the part of the equality act which discrimates against people because of their ethnicity.  A person should get a job based on merit not on race.  This is the law that requires employers to employ people of a specific ethnic minority introduced by Harperson if they are equal to another applicant.  What if they're both from minorities.  It's a stupid law and surely you can't tackle descrimiation by descriminating.

Actual Equality

Get rid of the Equality Bill and introduce something that means equality is actually equal, instead of so-called 'positive discrimination'. Unless there are very good reasons for them, I would like to see the following questions disappear from application forms:

Anything on sexual orientation,

Anything on race (we are all human. Why does it matter what colour your skin is?),

Sex,

Age,

Marital Status,

Disabilities.

Repeal Section 11(c) of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973

This Section bans same sex marriage in this country. An item on the freedom bill repealing this section would there by allow equal marriage in this country.
