Cut Teenage Pregnancy

Comment 13th July 2010

It seems that teenage pregnancy is now occurring more now not due to ignorance but because of a total lack of concern for the consequences. The attitude is that the state will pay, so why worry: in fact it is known that many young girls deliberately have babies in order to obtain accommodation. The government should terminate all benefits (except child allowance) for any new born under 18 years of age. The responsibility should be placed upon the parents of pregnant teenagers to provide accomodation and care with any allowance being paid to the parents of either the mother or the father.

I believe that  a realisation that there are no benefits to come will slow teenage pregnancy.

Why does this matter?

Because the number of babies born to children is perpetuating the poor parental or parentless society and self-generating the problem of teenage pregnancy with every generation.
