Music license required to play live music in pubs

Comment 1st July 2010

Scrape the law that came in not so long ago that made pubs have to apply for a license to have local musicians play.

Why does this matter?

This law is crushing the life and soul out of the musicians of this country applying unnecessary red tape to small venues for something a simple as singing and strumming a guitar to your fellows for entertainment. The activity should actually be encouraged as it is creative, bonding and brings joy to our lives.

Goodness knows how many musical acts in the UK have come up through the grass roots pubs & clubs and gone onto entertain the whole world, we need to protect the informal & amateur way this activity has traditionally started here in the UK.
