A) to enable more people to use this traditionally safe and ecologically sound mode of transport
B) to remedy a clear piece of discrimination
c) because the law is excessive, irrational and restrictive beyond any reason
It is irrational that right-hand sidecars are banned on motorcycles registered since the mid-1980's when left-hand drive cars are not. It seems discriminatory and has no safety or health implications.
Sidecar riders are a minority. The law effectively blocks imports of (e.g.) un-modified Russian outfits and others from almost every other country in the world. Driven sidecars are a particular problem in this respect.
I suggest this quirky and pointless rule be revoked.
