RESTRICTIONS ON WHEN LORRIES CAN USE MOTORWAYS

Fed up with being delayed on your commute to and from work because of lorries on the motorway?

I know I am, therefore, I think the government should introduce legislation that stops lorries from using our motorways between 6am and 9am, and 4pm and 7pm, with fines for offenders and loss of licence for repeat offenders. Lorry parks should be set up around the country so during this time lorries can park up to allow commuters to get to work. Although, it will hopefully result in better planning to mean lorries travel at off peak times and doing loading and unloading during this time.

Why is it important?

It would make your commute much less stressful and quicker, enabling people to be more productive, and hence would generate economic growth. Furthermore, revenue would be generated for the government from the fines levied on any offenders.

Completly the wrong way to go. 100 % bad idea. put up transport costs & as everything goes by truck ! you know the answer ! YOU PAY. All supermarkets have “timed slots” for deliverys & if a truck with bread is sat on the side of the road waiting to be allowed to drive on it.blh blah. simple really miss your “slot” & you dont get in. Take the speed limiters off trucks. this problem only came to light after speed limiter were fitted
