camping and caravan rallies

legislation does not take into account peoples rights when allowing camp sites to set up and farmers  to use fields for rallies.

anderby residents association would like the government to look into the following points

residents rights to enjoy their homes

proximity of site to residents

will the site/rally be intrusive to neighbours

shared drive should always have the residents written agreement

also a 10 year clause exists for landowners to abuse their licence agreement, ie if a site agreed to a 15 van site, if they abuse the agreement  for 10years they get to keep the enlarged site. no justice in this clause whatsoever. the licence should be revoked and  re-appied as well as being fined for breach of agement

Give Farmers Precedence Over Foxes

Repeal or change the Protection of Wild Mammals (Scotland) Act 2002
and the Hunting Act 2004.

Having lost 20 hens to foxes sofar this year (out of a small group producing 3 to 10 eggs per day), I met a fox chasing a cloud of flapping squaking hens in my garden last Sunday.

I had my dogs with me, but under current legislation am not allowed to let them “hunt” the fox.

What lunacy! The fox vanished into cover where there is no possibility of shooting, and has been back since.

The hens are not happy if they are shut in. I feel my rights to keep free range hens should take precedence over the rights granted to foxes by the previous government.

Please repeal or change this misguided legislation and untie my hands.

Allowing temporary signs for promoting farmers’ markets

Amending the planning legislation which currently prevents farmers' markets from displaying signs to promote their markets.  Better promotion leads to more popular and better attended markets which are both good for the farmers and producers who attend but also the local community where the market is based.

Redundant Farm Buildings Conversion

The last Labour governmentbrought in a law which allowed the conversion of suitable redundant farm buildings into offices or holiday cottages. But not houses

The offices are difficult to let and the holiday cottages are only suitable in the right area.

However there is a desperate shortage of houses and these buildings often make good houses.

The footprint is already there and no extra land is utilised, also the nations housing shortage could be improved at no cost to the tax payer.

I believe Mr Clegg the deputy Prime Minister wrote an article in the Daily Mail supporting this idea.

I would like to propose therefore that these buildings if suiutable should be given planning permission to convert into houses./

Avoid bovine Tb spread

Badgers don't go to market. They catch Tb from cattle which are carted around the country to agricultural 'shows'. All movement of livestock to shows should be banned. Farmers wishing to buy livestock should visit the farm offering them for sale to check the quality of the animals and the care provided by the farmer. The auction at the 'show' will be in the absence of the cattle which will be saved the transport round the country and the pollution from cattle trucks. Bovine Tb will soon be eliminated.

Ban food by Air Freight

food should only be imported into UK as an exception and then only by boat, bananas for example which ripen on the boat journey are OK but soft fruit from africa being flown in is criminal, we must ban this, i propose a new law simply requiring supermarkets to source food from the UK if it can be grown here, i accept something like coffee or bananas will only grow abroad but too much fruit and veg and meat should only ever come from the UK and if its not in season, tough wait
