Repeal of the 1707 Treaty of Union

There is no need for the Treaty of Union, signed in 1707 against the wishes of the Scottish people.  Scotland can do better on its own as recent reports have indicated.  For the last four years Scotland’s economy has been in surplus – with more taxes raised than spent in Scotland.  In effect Scotland is subsidising the failing UK economy

Bar signatories to the Scottish Claim of Right (1988) from holding office in British government.

Signatories to the Scottish Claim of Right affirm that the interests of Scotland are paramount over those of all other countries, including those of other parts countries in the United Kingdom.

The claim states:

"We, gathered as the Scottish Constitutional Convention, do hereby acknowledge the sovereign right of the Scottish people to determine the form of Government best suited to their needs, and do hereby declare and pledge that in all our actions and deliberations their interests shall be paramount."

Cancel the Barnet Formula

This outdated legislation has no place in the democracy called The United Kingdom.

It is not right that one country of the UK should subsidise another to the extent that that subsidised country can afford to provide services that the donor cannot. There was £26 Billion in subsidies paid by English taxpayers to the Scottish assembly in 2009.

Envirment agency rod licence in scotland

There should be no need to have a rod licence, when fishing on the Border Esk & Liddle river's.

It is an unjust law when someone in scotland is punished by an english agency.

There are no other river's in scotland affected in this way.

Repeal the Acts of Union 1707

By repealing the Ats of Union, Scotland can be given independence and can be asked to repay the Darien loan [which was why they joined England – i.e. Scotland was bankrupted by the Darien colony and England bailed them out]. In giving Scotland its independence, it should also be given its share of the current National debt / bail out costs of the Royal Bank of Scotland [another catastrophic Scottish failure]

repeal the barnet formula

Stop the law that give inapropriate amounts to England Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland – Scotland wants indepenance then let them have it without the unnessary funds that come per head from central government

This law is so out of date and we the English come off the worst – whilst Scotland and Wales get to make laws on Health like no Home care charges and prescriptions we have to pay for everything! and give them a greater proportion per head of the funds.

English Votes for English Laws

Finally doing something about the West Lothian Question, where a Scottish MP is allowed to vote on matters that only affect England but the same Scottish MP is not allowed to vote on matter concerning his own consituency e.g a Member of Parliament for West Lothian being able to vote on matters affecting the English town of Blackburn, Lancashire but not Blackburn, West Lothian in his own constituency.

Another example being English students are required to pay top-up tuition fees, while Scottish students are not. The legislation imposing top-up fees on English students passed by a small majority of 316 to 311. At the time opposition education secretary Tim Yeo argued that this low majority indicated that the passing of the law had hinged on Scottish MPs voting to introduce tuition fees that the Scottish students would not have to pay.

Allow England to vote on Scottish Devolution.

It not only many Scots that want to see Scotland go it alone as a fully independent state, a large number of us English are fed up of subsidising Scotland. The fact of the matter is Scotland (per head) takes far more out of the UK than it puts in yet there is constant bleating about its north sea oil and been ruled by westminster.

So lets have a referendum on both sides of the border as to whether the Scots want to be independent and if the English want rid of them.

Prescriptions & Education

Standardising prescriptions nationwide so the nation pays a reduced prescription charge. What I mean by this is forcing Wales to charge for prescriptions. I don't see why the British Tax payers should subsidise something that they themselves are unable to benefit from.

Standardising University Education nationwide. What I mean by this is forcing Scotland to charge for University fees. I don't see why the British Tax payers should subsidise something that they themselves are unable to benefit from and we already have a huge defeatist in university education.

Create a rating system for university courses. Someone who qualifies as a doctor earns over their professional life, much more than someone who has qualified in say a teacher. So why should a teacher pay the same fees as a doctor? Surely it is more financially viable to stagger the rate of fees dependant on what course you are doing and where you go? America rate their universities, and Ivy League universities are allowed to charge more. Ivy League don't exclude poorer students, who can apply for grants to plug their financial gap. This is subsidised by higher fees to those that can afford it.

Moving decisions from DfT to Scottish Ministers

Amend Section 2, Subsection 6A of the Railways Act 1993 to remove the requirement for the Scottish Ministers to have to consult "the Authority" the Strategic Rail Authority (which is now the DfT) on appointments to the Rail Passengers' Committee for Scotland.

Repeal the 1707 Act of Union

A repeal of the Act of Parliament uniting England and Scotland as a single political entity, thus paving the way for both countries to emerge as sovereign states in their own right.
